Creditor's Claims: In this presentation on Creditor’s Claims we will discuss what a valid claim is and what makes a claim invalid, the requirements of notice, the documents and processes required to file a valid claim, allowing and rejecting a claim and discuss case examples.

 

Presenter: Natasha L. Rangel

Natasha L. Rangel has 22 years of professional experience working with the California Probate Code and related matters. She has performed a variety of tasks related to the probate field including, case intake and assignment, supervision and management functions throughout her career. She currently manages a Public Administrator bureau in one of the largest counties in California. 

 

The Public Administrator is responsible for investigating and administering estates of county residents who pass away without family available or willing to handle their affairs. The Public Administrator acts in accordance with the powers provided in the State of California Probate Code. 

 

Prior to her employment within the Public Administrator bureau she was employed with the Office of County Counsel in Riverside County, for over 3 years wherein she provided legal support assistance in litigation representation and processing of legal documents for various departments within the County of Riverside. In addition, she has 10 years prior experience working as a legal secretary in a private law firm where she managed a variety of probate cases including, conservatorships, guardianships, probate (estates), Will and Trust matters as well as civil litigation, business law, real estate law, landlord tenant matters, immigration law, bankruptcy law, formations of corporations and LLCs, family law and eminent domain matters. 

 

Natasha L. Rangel received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration and her Master of Public Administration (MPA) from California Baptist University.

 

She is a Curtailing Abuse Related to the Elderly (C.A.R.E.) Team member for Districts 1, 2, 3 and 5 in Riverside County. She is also a core member of the Elder Abuse Forensic Center (E.A.F.C.) for Riverside County. Natasha is a member of the Training Committee for Riverside County. Additionally, she is a California Public Administrators, Public Guardians and Public Conservators (CAPAPGPC) Executive Board Member.

 

The training will take place on December 13th from 9:00 am-11:00 am via Zoom

An email with the Zoom link and instructions on how to attend will be sent out a day prior to the training. 

The training is virtually designed to ensure that the benefits of in-person trainings are still available. This will include being able to ask questions, have access to the training materials, and converse with fellow members.
