Description: This virtual session will review the new and revised judicial council forms.  The forms discussed will be GC-355 and GC-356, which were developed to implement SB 280, and forms GC-325, GC-335, and GC-335A, which are the result of a comprehensive revision of form GC-335.

Trainer: Corby Sturges, Attorney, Center for Families, Children & the Courts, Judicial Council of California

Corby Sturges is an attorney with the Judicial Council Center for Families, Children & the Courts (CFCC). He has served as lead staff to the Probate and Mental Health Advisory Committee since January 2017. Since starting with CFCC in October of 2000, Corby has performed a variety of duties, including editing CFCC’s legal journal, staffing advisory bodies, drafting California Rules of Court and Judicial Council forms, analyzing legislation, and drafting legal opinions. Since returning in January 2010 from an extended break in service, during which he took primary responsibility for caring for his two children, Corby has focused on providing legal information and technical assistance on a wide range of issues in judicial administration, practice, and procedure to the council and California’s juvenile, family, and probate courts. A long time ago, Corby received a master’s degree in Jurisprudence & Social Policy from UC Berkeley, a law degree from George Washington University Law School, and a bachelor’s degree in Russian & East European Studies from Yale University.

The training will take place on March 18th from 1:00 pm- 2:00 pm via Zoom

An email with the Zoom link and instructions on how to attend will be sent out a day prior to the training. 

The training is virtually designed to ensure that the benefits of in-person trainings are still available. This will include being able to ask questions, have access to the training materials, and converse with fellow members.
