DESCRIPTION: Burnout is inevitable in this fast-paced world, but it can be managed. This training will help participants identify and explore the stages of burnout, factors that cause burnout, and the effects of stress on the body. Participants will also focus on ways to ease symptoms of burnout and resources to work toward an outcome.

PRESENTER: As a passionate advocate for mental health and well-being, Amanda Hickerson brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the field with over 20 years of experience. She practices as a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia and is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Supervisor in North Carolina. Driven by an unwavering passion for helping individuals lead fulfilling lives, she sought further specialization in applied behavior analysis (ABA) and completed the rigorous requirements to become a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). This additional certification sets Amanda apart as a skilled practitioner in assessing and addressing behavioral challenges across diverse populations. With a deep-rooted commitment to helping individuals navigate the complexities of their emotional and psychological challenges she has dedicated her career to fostering resilience and promoting positive change in the lives of others. Throughout her journey, Amanda has amassed a diverse range of experiences working with various populations, including children, adolescents, adults, and families. She is also privileged to be the spouse of a career military veteran, which developed her understanding of military culture and opened opportunities to work with active duty service members and veterans. Amanda received her undergraduate degree in Psychology and Religious Studies from the University of NC at Chapel Hill and her MA in Community Counseling from Regent University. Outside of her professional pursuits, Amanda enjoys spending precious time with her family and spoiling the family cat, Professor Minerva Elizabeth McGonagall, who magically appeared one day and has since enchanted the entire household.
