Description: During this session, participants will gain a better understanding of Implicit Bias and what it looks like in the real world. Dr. Bryant Marks will walk attendees through causes of Implicit Bias and how it affects the person who holds the bias and the targeted group. Once these implicit biases are identified and better understood, then it can be reduced and managed at the individual level.  Through highly interactive and introspective exercises, participants will leave the session with a better understanding of biases that everyone has. *Session was part of the 2025 Annual Conference.

Trainer: Reverend Dr. Bryant T. Marks, Sr. is a minister, researcher, trainer, award-winning educator, and former member of the Obama Administration. He is the Founder and Chief Equity Officer of the National Training Institute on Race and Equity and a tenured professor of Psychology at Morehouse College. Over the past five years, Dr. Marks provided implicit bias training to over 100,000 employees and volunteers in law enforcement; city, county, and federal government; corporations; education; and healthcare. Dr. Marks holds a B.A. in psychology and a minor in economics from Morehouse College, and a Master’s and Ph.D. in Social Psychology from the University of Michigan. Dr. Marks conducts research and professional development in the areas of diversity and implicit bias, Black male psychology and development, and personal passion and productivity. Dr. Marks is married to Dr. Kimberly Marks and father to Kim, Zion-Trinity, and Bryant II.

The training will take place on July 17th from 10:00am - 12:00pm via Zoom

An email with the Zoom link and instructions on how to attend will be sent out a day prior to the training. 

The training is virtually designed to ensure that the benefits of in-person trainings are still available. This will include being able to ask questions, have access to the training materials, and converse with fellow members.
